CPU's burning

I've reached the point where Warflow's bottleneck is now CPU related. I don't know yet if that's a good or a bad news. There're plenty of things easily optimizable regarding graphics, while raw code is already rather clean. So basically... more of a bad news.

Anyway optimizing CPU side is always much more fun. Thus maybe a good news? All in all... I don't know. I'll take a look at this later.

I was performing some tests - like this one where I aggregated a dozen of buildings into a single giant city - when I realized that it was working strategically speaking. Unlike iubes it seems that there's a lot of available strategies.

I'm far from masterizing my own game: first beta sessions are bound to be really interesting to watch and analyze.

Go for data! I'm trying to display as much useful information as possible. I spend some time to craft nice charts. Downside is I'll have to explain all of that at some point...

But the real story is that it even helped me to discover some issues and incoherences. Took me hours to fix all of that but I'm starting to really enjoy playing with this new game. It's going to be really more challenging to balance than the previous version.
